From automated warehousing to tech-powered inventory and shipping solutions, we go beyond standard logistics to deliver scalable, tailored support for high-growth businesses.
As we continue our rapid growth, we are looking for a commercially minded and operationally strong Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team. You’ll be responsible for running the day-to-day warehouse operation, managing client SLAs, leading teams, and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Role Overview
This role is ideal for an experienced logistics professional with a strong understanding of warehouse operations, 3PL relationships, warehouse systems (WMS), and performance reporting. You’ll work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to ensure operational excellence, client satisfaction, and efficient use of resources across the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Lead and oversee daily warehouse functions including inbound, outbound, putaway, replenishment, inventory control, and returns.
- Ensure all warehouse activities are completed in line with agreed SLAs, with a focus on accuracy, speed, and safety.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety policies, industry standards, and internal SOPs.
- Manage peak season planning, shift structures, and workforce allocation to ensure operational readiness.
Team Management & Leadership
- Lead and develop warehouse supervisors and team leads across different shifts and departments.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of warehouse staff to ensure high performance and retention.
- Create a positive and productive working environment with clear goals, recognition, and accountability.
3PL & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Serve as the key operational contact for third-party logistics (3PL) providers, driving service quality and accountability.
- Work closely with internal departments (Client Success, Inventory, Tech, and Commercial) to ensure smooth coordination and client delivery.
- Act as a point of escalation for operational queries or issues affecting client experience or delivery performance.
System Optimisation & WMS Oversight
- Utilise your strong understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to optimise workflows and improve system adoption.
- Work with internal tech teams to configure, test, and continuously improve WMS performance and reporting functions.
- Ensure that all warehouse team members are trained effectively on WMS use, scanning, and system processes.
Project Management & Client Onboarding
- Lead operational setup for new client onboarding, including warehouse layout planning, packaging processes, SLAs, and reporting structures.
- Support project delivery for warehouse expansion, automation, or service diversification initiatives.
- Liaise with clients during onboarding and change management phases to ensure a seamless operational setup.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Build and maintain clear KPI dashboards and reports across picking, packing, shipping, productivity, labour, and order accuracy.
- Monitor warehouse capacity, space utilisation, and cost per order metrics to inform planning and budgeting.
- Use data to identify underperformance and implement corrective actions to improve operational output and customer service.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to optimise processes, reduce manual touchpoints, and improve productivity.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, with clear action plans and measurable outcomes.
- Drive cost-efficiency initiatives without compromising service or quality.
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience in warehouse operations management, ideally in a 3PL or high-volume fulfilment environment.
- Strong understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and how they support operational efficiency.
- Proven track record in managing 3PL or multi-client warehouse operations.
- Highly proficient in analysing data and reporting on operational KPIs; advanced Excel or BI tool knowledge preferred.
- Strong project management capability – able to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage change effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management (both internal and external).
- Commercially minded with a focus on operational cost control and client service.
